So today was our first day of school. I was very nervous. We had a fun summer filled with adventure. We stayed out of our house as much as possible. So when I laid down the law of no TV until after school work was done I was worried there would be anarchy! Overall it went well. I finally started up my exercise routine again. I do P90X. Ever done this with children trying to hang on you? The best is when you are doing downward dog and they think you are a fun new bridge to play on! Atleast they are seeing their mom trying to take care of herself...according to experts this will instill a healthy love of exercise as they grow older :) After I finished my workout we got down to work! I do not like pushing young kids into school. So I had not planned much for my 4 year old. He begged me to do work like his brother. So I set out three pre-school sheets from a workbook I had for him. He had a great time! For my 2nd grader we started with science, as it is his favorite subject. I have found by starting with this he is more likely to sit and complete the rest of his work without hassle. I have started a new math program...it is called Math U See. We LOVE it! He gets to watch a video first and then use blocks to complete the assignment. Much better than the curriculum we had last year! Overall we had a very nice first day!
After school we had to take my cousin to the doctor. In the waiting room there was a lady who was very pregnant and ready to pop. Brendan could not contain his excitement! He ran over to her and struck up a conversation. "What are you having?" "Are you excited?" "What are you getting her for Christmas?" Then came my favorite question "Can we wait here for you to have the baby? I really want to see her and welcome her!" LOL the mom to be and myself were cracking up. She said she hoped the baby would come today. The entire way out of the office he kept begging me to stay so we could see the baby...I gave a watered down version of how a baby comes into this world...we had our first lesson on child birth! :)
